What is the recovery time and what can I expect after a Brazilian butt lift?

There is no doubt that society’s take on the perfect female form has changed significantly during the last half century and more. Today, curves in the right places are considered to be some of the most attractive features that a woman can have. One area in which many women are expressing an increasing desire to own a shapelier silhouette is their rear, with large, pert and rounded butts now a symbol of femininity, sexiness, and attractiveness. Nevertheless, not all females are blessed with natural volume in this part of their body.

A Brazilian butt lift can transform the shape of your rear and give you the voluptuous, attractive booty that is so popular this decade. However, while the procedure is fairly straightforward for a trained and experienced cosmetic surgeon, many patients underestimate the recovery that is required after this innovative but invasive form of cosmetic surgery.

Here is what you need to know about the recovery time and what to expect after a Brazilian butt lift.

Scheduling time to recover after a Brazilian butt lift

One of the biggest mistakes made by any cosmetic surgery patient is failing to schedule enough time to recover from their procedure. There are many different types of cosmetic body procedures, and as such, recovery times can vary. However, they do all have one thing in common – if you rush back to work or other physical activities too quickly, it could have a detrimental effect on your recovery, the outcome of your procedure and your overall health.

Ideally, you should schedule at least two to three weeks away from work after your procedure. Your surgeon’s office should be able to give you a note to give your employer explaining that you need adequate time to recuperate after surgery. However, for confidentiality reasons, they are not obliged to divulge which procedure you have had, and your employer is not allowed to ask. If you need any longer than this, your surgeon will be able to tell you how much more time you should take to heal.

You may need to wait even longer to participate in some sports and other physical activities. Your cosmetic surgery team will be able to advise you how long you will need to wait before these become a possibility.

What can I expect after a Brazilian butt lift?

Immediately after your Brazilian butt lift, you will feel groggy and disorientated. This is a standard side-effect of the general anesthetic that you have had, which ensures that you are unaware and aren’t in pain during the procedure. During the time when the anesthetic is wearing off, you may also feel nauseous and it may be difficult for you to form our say words. This is normal and you should go back to normal fairly quickly.

You should expect to remain in our care for at least two to three days after your surgery. This enables our experienced staff to closely monitor you during the start of the recovery and ensure that you are made comfortable using pain medications and anti-inflammatories. You will also be given compression garments to wear which will keep the area clean, as well as promoting healing, minimizing swelling and aiding your recovery.

Easily one of the most important parts of a successful recovery from a Brazilian butt lift is to avoid resting on your buttocks for around six weeks. This is because doing so could cause the fat graft to become displaced and for your butt to become flatter again. Instead, your surgeon will give you more detailed advice on how you should sit and lay during your recovery so that you get the best possible results from your Brazilian butt lift. You should follow these instructions, and any others given to you by your surgical team, as closely as possible as these will reduce the likelihood of complications and improve the overall outcome of your procedure.
